• flat (in place of apartment)
• term (in place of semester)

Colloquialisms I cannot pick up without sounding like an ass:

• fresher (in place of freshman) I've started saying "first year." I think this is an appropriate middle ground.
• fancy (in place of like)
• quid
• chuffed

Favorite writers/comedians/filmmakers (this list only exists because I realized that a number of famous people I like happen to share certain qualities, or rather, for each of the following categories, at least two people on this list will fall into it: gay, Jewish, man, neurotic, named David)
